Online Events for Schools
I love to visit schools, but sometimes a visit isn’t possible. It might be that students are in regional Australia, and it’s too far for me to travel. It might be that students are studying by distance education. Or it might just be that it’s more convenient to chat online. If that’s your school’s situation, email me to organise an online session.
Online Q & A
Online sessions are flexible–that’s the great thing about them. They can run for 30 minutes to an hour. You might book in your class, or a group of keen readers. Students can ask questions about the writer’s life, the craft of writing and my books. They can also troubleshoot problems they’re having with plot, character, dialogue or structure.
Online Writing Workshop
Online writing workshops can run over the course of a morning, a day or a week. They work best if numbers are kept small– 15 or under. How does it work? Much the same as a face-to-face workshop, except exercises are posted online, as is student work. It’s a great way for students to get feedback, and to get into the nuts and bolts of craft.
Book via Booked Out, or email me to chat about hosting an online event at your school.
